The film. Rawhide (1959-1965) is the western series that revealed Clint Eastwood, in the role of cattle drover Rowdy Yates. Running for eight seasons, it made him a familiar face to American audiences before Sergio Leone offered him the part of the Man with No Name. The episode “The Backshooter” (1964) shows him on the rise.
