Jane Birkin Biography
Born on 14 December 1946 in London, Jane Birkin settled in France at the end of the 1960s and became a muse and a fashion icon.
Brought to prominence by Antonioni's Blow-Up (1966), she formed a legendary couple with Serge Gainsbourg and worked with Jacques Rivette, Agnès Varda and Jacques Doillon. Her natural, bohemian style inspired a whole generation, right down to the famous leather handbag that bears her name. A singer and actress, she moved through French cinema with rare freedom.
A committed and endearing figure, she remained an unclassifiable artist to the end. Our framed Fine Art photo prints celebrate this icon: youthful portraits and bohemian photos, in black and white or, for some, in colour, for a living room, a bedroom or a dressing room.
