About Thunderball

Released in 1965, Thunderball is the fourth film in the James Bond saga and its biggest success of the era.

Directed by Terence Young, it sends Sean Connery to the Bahamas to recover two NATO atomic bombs stolen by SPECTRE, which threatens to destroy a major city. Facing him: Emilio Largo, the eyepatch-wearing number two, and his mistress Domino. The film, awarded an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, became a worldwide phenomenon.

But the images that endure across the decades remain the spectacular underwater harpoon battle and the jetpack of the opening scene — among the most iconic sequences of the saga. Our framed Fine Art photo prints celebrate these legendary moments, in black and white or, for some, in colour, for a living room, an office or a home cinema.

Frequently asked questions

Which scenes and images from Thunderball do you offer as framed prints?

Our Thunderball collection celebrates one of the most spectacular James Bond films. It features Sean Connery as 007 in diving gear, the Bond girl Domino, the eyepatch-wearing villain Emilio Largo, the opening jetpack scene and the vast underwater harpoon battle that marked the saga. The most requested prints are Connery as a diver and the aquatic clashes in the Bahamas — each a numbered limited edition on Fine Art photo paper. Ideal for a living room, an office or a home cinema, every print recreates the action and elegance of this 1965 film by Terence Young.

Are the Thunderball photos available in black and white?

Yes. Most of our Thunderball prints are offered in black and white — a look that superbly showcases the contrasts of the underwater scenes and the elegance of Sean Connery. Some images are also available in colour, notably the turquoise Bahamian waters that shine in colour. Each print is produced on Fine Art photo paper then hand-framed in solid wood in our in-house workshop, with a black or white mat of your choice. Black and white remains the most requested by collectors for a chic, timeless display.

Are these Thunderball prints authentic, and in what sizes?

Each Thunderball print is a traceable collector’s piece. Produced in a numbered limited edition on Fine Art photo paper, it comes with its certificate of authenticity (COA), a hologram and a traceability QR code. Two sizes to choose from: 70×50 cm (Starck Original) or 60×40 cm (Starck Medium), hand-framed in solid wood in our in-house workshop, black or white mat. The whole piece arrives ready to hang and carefully packaged — the standards of an art gallery applied to every order.

Does a Thunderball print make a great gift, and do you ship to Europe?

Yes, it is one of our most gifted pieces. A framed Thunderball print — 007 as a diver or the underwater harpoon duel — delights lovers of James Bond and 1960s action cinema, and makes an ideal gift for a birthday, a housewarming or a wedding. The piece arrives framed, numbered and ready to hang, with its certificate of authenticity. We ship in tracked, insured delivery to the United Kingdom, Ireland and across Europe, in reinforced packaging that protects the frame and the glass.
