Born on 17 August 1943 in New York, Robert De Niro became one of the greatest actors of his generation under the direction of Martin Scorsese.

The young Vito Corleone of The Godfather Part II earned him a first Oscar in 1974, before Taxi Driver (1976) and his Travis Bickle, a disturbing and iconic figure of New Hollywood. A master of transformation, he gained twenty-seven kilos to play Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull (1980), which earned him a second Oscar and remains a pinnacle of the craft.

From Goodfellas to Casino and Once Upon a Time in America, he carved out a legendary filmography, then reinvented himself in comedy.
