Jean-Paul Belmondo Biography

Born on 9 April 1933 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Jean-Paul Belmondo burst onto the screen at the very start of the 1960s.

Breathless (1960) by Jean-Luc Godard, the manifesto film of the New Wave, made him a star at once, thanks to his insolent charm and his nonchalance. From Pierrot le Fou to Léon Morin, Priest, he worked with the greatest auteurs, before becoming the most popular actor in French cinema: the fearless stuntman of That Man from Rio, Ace of Aces and Le Professionnel.

“Bébel” embodies a unique joy of performing and a streetwise wit, from the theatre to the biggest popular hits. Our framed Fine Art photo prints celebrate this legend: iconic roles and stunts, in black and white or, for some, in colour, for a living room, an office or a home cinema.

Frequently asked questions

Which Jean-Paul Belmondo films and portraits do you offer as framed prints?

Our collection celebrates “Bébel”, from the New Wave to popular cinema. You'll find Breathless (1960) by Godard, Pierrot le Fou, That Man from Rio and Le Professionnel. The most sought-after prints are Belmondo with a cigarette on his lip, his stunts and his portraits — each a numbered limited edition.

Are the Jean-Paul Belmondo photos available in black and white?

Yes. Most of our Jean-Paul Belmondo prints are offered in black and white — a look that beautifully brings out his insolent charm and his nonchalance, especially Breathless. Some images are also available in colour, to recover the tones of the era. Each print is produced on Fine Art photo paper then hand-framed in solid wood in our in-house workshop, with a black or white mat of your choice. Black and white remains the most requested by collectors for a chic, timeless display.

Are these Jean-Paul Belmondo prints authentic, and in which sizes?

Yes, entirely. Our Jean-Paul Belmondo prints are numbered in a limited edition and printed on Fine Art photo paper, a guarantee of longevity and depth of contrast. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity (COA), a hologram and a QR code that let you verify its origin. We offer two sizes — 70×50 cm or 60×40 cm — hand-framed in solid wood in our in-house workshop, with a black or white mat. The frame arrives ready to hang, carefully protected for shipping.

Does a Jean-Paul Belmondo print make a great gift, and do you deliver across Europe?

Yes, it's one of our most gifted pieces. A framed Jean-Paul Belmondo print — the insolent “Bébel” of French cinema — delights lovers of French cinema, the New Wave and action, and makes a perfect present for a birthday, a housewarming or a wedding.
