About this photo

Jean Reno and Marc Duret in the depths of the Mediterranean in *The Big Blue*

This iconic photograph captures Jean Reno and Marc Duret in one of the most memorable scenes from *The Big Blue*, filmed in the crystal-clear waters of Santorini under the direction of Luc Besson. The film, inspired by the real-life rivalry between free divers Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca, showcases Jean Reno in one of his first major film roles, three years before his international breakthrough in *Nikita*.

With a budget of 80 million francs, *The Big Blue* became a cultural phenomenon, drawing more than 10 million viewers in France. This collaboration marked the beginning of a long-lasting artistic partnership between Jean Reno and Luc Besson, which would continue with *Léon* and *The Big Blue*. Marc Duret, Besson’s loyal collaborator since his short films, brings his magnetic presence to this cult underwater epic.

This fine art print is hand-framed in our studios and limited to just 30 copies. Printed on fine art paper in a 70x50 cm format, it is enhanced by a solid wood frame and 3mm crystal glass. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity featuring a hologram and is shipped within 48 hours.

An endless journey into Besson's dreamlike world, where male friendship transcends the depths.
