The film. In The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Sergio Leone, 1966), the pistol duels — extreme close-ups on eyes, hands and holster, stretched to the unbearable — became the signature of the spaghetti western. Clint Eastwood imposes the Good, a laconic and implacable figure, carried by Ennio Morricone's music.
