Karina Antończak is a Polish painter who lives and works in Warsaw. An architect by training—she studied architecture in Wrocław and Kraków after attending a fine arts school in Częstochowa—she left the lines of technical drawing to dedicate herself to painting, a turning point she connects to the birth of her son.
Her abstract work is organized into series (urban landscapes, lacework, lakes). She favors open and symmetrical compositions, monochromatic and refined landscapes, stripped of any dominant element, with only a single detail interrupting them. Her painting is contemplative, seeking simplicity, clarity, and space.
