Born on 6 July 1946 in New York, Sylvester Stallone had a difficult start before writing, himself, the screenplay that would change everything.
He forced Rocky (1976) on a studio on the condition that he play the title role: the gamble paid off, the film won the Academy Award for Best Picture and launched a cult saga about the underdog who rises again, against Apollo Creed then Drago. He then created a second legend, John Rambo, from First Blood (1982), and became one of the biggest action stars of the 1980s-90s — Cobra, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man.
