The film. Le Mans (1971) is the film in which Steve McQueen gave free rein to his passion for racing. In the role of driver Michael Delaney, he rubs shoulders with the Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s on the Sarthe circuit, in a work of documentary realism rare for its time.
