The film. Directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot in 1960, The Truth (La Vérité) gave Brigitte Bardot one of her greatest roles: Dominique, a young woman on trial for the murder of her lover. This poignant courtroom drama, nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film, reveals the full range of her talent and is still considered her finest performance.
