About this photo

Chinatown (1974) – Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway in Cross's office

This photograph captures the dramatic tension between Jake Gittes and Evelyn Mulwray during their final confrontation. Directed by Roman Polanski, *Chinatown* was filmed primarily in the historic neighborhoods of Los Angeles, where this iconic scene captures the essence of modern film noir through the lens of cinematographer John A. Alonzo.

With a budget of $6 million, the film grossed $29.2 million at the U.S. box office and earned Jack Nicholson his fourth Oscar nomination. This film by Robert Towne won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, cementing its status as a neo-noir masterpiece. Faye Dunaway, fresh off her success in Bonnie and Clyde, brings a striking vulnerability to the screen in contrast to Nicholson’s intensity.

This fine art print is hand-framed in our studios and limited to just 30 copies. Printed on fine art paper in a 70x50 cm format, it is enhanced by a solid wood frame and 3mm crystal glass. Each piece is authenticated with a certificate and a hologram, then shipped within 48 hours.

A play that captures the tormented soul of 1930s Los Angeles, where secrets and lies intertwine in the shadows of power.
