3 Step-by-Step Instructions
Determine the height. The center of the frame should be 150 cm above the floor (eye level). For a frame that is 55 cm tall, the top edge will be 177.5 cm above the floor.
Measure the distance between the brackets. Turn the frame over and measure the distance between the two brackets on the back. Position the two brackets about 50 cm apart, centered on the wall.
Mark the spots on the wall. Using a tape measure and a level, mark the two drilling spots with a pencil. Tip: Place a piece of masking tape over the area before marking to protect the paint.
Drill and insert anchors. Drill with a 6 mm drill bit, hammer in the anchors, then drive in the screws, leaving the heads protruding 5 mm.
Hang and adjust. Place the frame over the screws. Use the spirit level placed on top to check that it is level. Adjust if necessary by slightly loosening a screw.
4. The Tight String Trick
If your frame has mounting holes on the back, stretch a steel wire between them. This allows you to usejust one screw in the wall and makes it easier to adjust the frame horizontally.
5 Pro Tips
Concrete/Brick: Standard anchors, Ø6.
Drywall: Molly anchors or toggle anchors.
Wood: Screw directly into the wood, without an anchor.
A 75×55 cm frame weighs between 3 and 6 kg, depending on the material. For safety reasons, make sure your wall mounts can support at least 10 kg.
Attach small felt or cork pads to the four back corners of the frame. This protects the wall and prevents the frame from sliding.
For fragile walls or rental properties, use heavy-duty adhesive hooks (such as 3M Command) that can hold up to 7 kg.
Watch out for pipes and electrical wires! Before drilling, use a metal/wire detector, especially near outlets and light switches. If in doubt, move your drilling point 20 cm away.
6 Height depending on the room
| Play | Center height | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| Living Room / Entryway | 150 cm above the ground | Eye level, standing |
| Above a sofa | 25–30 cm above the backrest | Creates a visual connection with the furniture |
| Hallway | 150–155 cm above the ground | We're on our feet and just passing through |
| Dining room | 130–140 cm above the ground | We often sit with our gaze lowered |
| Bedroom (above the bed) | 20–25 cm above the headboard | Visible from bed and while standing |
