About this photo

Borsalino 1970 - Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon on the streets of Marseille

Filmed in Marseille’s Panier district, this iconic scene from *Borsalino* marks the first time Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon appeared together on screen. Director Jacques Deray had originally planned to cast another actor alongside Delon, but it was ultimately Belmondo who landed the role of François Capella after a chance encounter with producer Alain Poiré.

With over 4 million admissions in France, *Borsalino* became one of the biggest hits of French cinema in the 1970s. This crime thriller, inspired by real events involving Marseille gangs in the 1930s, definitively established Belmondo as a legend of French cinema, cementing his status following his collaborations with Jean-Luc Godard and his career at Gaumont.

This fine art print is hand-framed in our studios and available in a limited edition of 30 numbered copies. Printed on fine art paper in a 70x50 cm format, it is enhanced by a solid wood frame and 3mm crystal glass. Each piece is certified with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and a hologram, and shipped within 48 hours.

A legendary encounter between two giants of French cinema, frozen in time in Marseille.
