Back to the Future - The DeLorean DMC-12 in Doc Brown's Lab
The legendary DeLorean DMC-12 from *Back to the Future* was chosen by Robert Zemeckis for its spectacular gull-wing doors and futuristic design. John DeLorean himself approved the use of his car, hoping to boost sales of his struggling model. Seven DeLoreans were used during filming, including a radio-controlled version for stunts.
The film grossed $381 million at the global box office in 1985, catapulting Michael J. Fox to international stardom. Steven Spielberg, the executive producer, pushed for Fox despite initial reservations from Universal Studios.
