Terence Young had originally planned to use a Jaguar E-Type, but producers Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman opted for the Aston Martin after reaching an agreement with the British manufacturer. Ken Adam, the Oscar-winning production designer, personally oversaw the installation of Q gadgets in this legendary cockpit, transforming a classic dashboard into a spy arsenal.
Goldfinger grossed $124.9 million at the global box office, firmly establishing Sean Connery the embodiment of James Bond. The film won the Oscar for Best Sound Effects and launched Honor Blackman’s international career in the role of Pussy Galore.
