Brigitte Bardot Bio

Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot was born in Paris on September 28, 1934. From a middle-class family, her father was the director of an industrial company and her mother organized fashion shows for a fashion house; this helped little Brigitte stand out on the catwalks from an early age.

Then, as a teenager, Brigitte Bardot studied at the Conservatoire National de Danse with Boris Kniaseff. When she was just 15, she met a young screenwriter and assistant director, Roger Vadim, with whom she had her first passionate love affair. Their story was a difficult one. She wanted to marry before she turned 18, but her father wouldn't let her. On the day Roger went to ask for her hand in marriage, Brigitte's father was waiting for him with a revolver on his desk and chased him out of the house. They were finally married on December 20, 1952, at the registry office in the Auteuil district of Paris. The following year, she was already a fashion star.

She worked in the film Thieves in the Night, controversial for its nudity scenes. This was followed by films such as Le grand séducteur and La désespérée. By the early '60s, she was already earning nearly a million francs to make her first film as a protagonist, Et Dieu créa la femme..., with her husband as director. The film was a great success for her, but it also caused major problems in her married life, leading to a split with Vadim. But she soon discovered a very brief and contradictory affair with the film's protagonist, Jean-Louis Trintignant, with whom she lived after asking her husband for a divorce.

At the age of 45, the French press attributed 42 lovers to her. These included singer Gilbert Bécaud (when he left her for his wife, he attempted suicide), musician Sacha Distel and actor Jacques Charrier (with whom she married and had a son on January 11, 1960, named Nicholas). Shortly afterwards, she dated actor Sami Frey, for whom she suffered a near-death experience when they separated, as did Sami himself, who attempted suicide. Numerous romances were part of her life.

Complete guide with diagrams & professional tips

2 Mounting diagram

▲ WALL ▲ SOL 75 cm 55 cm ≈ 50 cm between the two fasteners 150 cm from the ground (center of the frame) CAPTION Fixing points (screws + anchors) Ideal height: center 150 cm from the floor

3 Step-by-step guide

Determine the height. The center of the frame should be 150 cm from the floor (eye level). For a frame that is 55 cm high, the top edge will therefore be 177.5 cm from the floor.

Measure the distance between the fasteners. Turn the frame over and measure the distance between the two fasteners on the back. For a 75 cm frame, place your two fasteners approximately 50 cm apart, centered on the wall.

Mark the points on the wall. Using a tape measure and a spirit level, mark the two drilling points with a pencil. Tip: stick a piece of tape on the wall before marking to protect the paint.

Drill and dowel. Drill with a 6 mm drill bit, insert the dowels with a hammer, then screw in the screws, leaving 5 mm of the head protruding.

Hang and adjust. Place the frame on the screws. Use the spirit level placed on top of the frame to check that it is level. Adjust if necessary by slightly loosening a screw.

4 Tension wire tip

REAR VIEW OF THE FRAME Piton Piton Steel wire or strong rope Tension → 1 screw is sufficient ADVANTAGE: Easy horizontal adjustment The frame slides along the wire for perfect centering.

If your frame has hooks (rings) on the back, stretch a steel wire between the two. This allows you to useonly one screw in the wall and makes it easier to adjust the frame horizontally.

5 Pro Tips

Wall type

Concrete/Brick: standard Ø6 anchors.
Plasterboard: Molly or toggle anchors.
Wood: screw directly, without anchors.

Estimated weight

A 75×55 cm frame weighs between 3 and 6 kg depending on the material. For safety reasons, check that your fixings can support at least 10 kg.

Protect the wall

Glue small felt or cork pads to the four rear corners of the frame. This protects the wall and prevents the frame from sliding.

Without drilling?

For fragile walls or rental properties, use high-strength adhesive hooks (such as Command 3M) that can hold up to 7 kg.

⚠️

Watch out for pipes and electrical wires! Before drilling, use a metal/cable detector, especially near outlets and switches. If in doubt, move your fixing point 20 cm away.
